Transforming Early Childhood Development: ECCE Project Milestones

Dharamshala: The Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) project, generously funded by USAID and managed by the Department of Education, Central Tibetan Administration, has achieved a significant milestone. The project has successfully completed the installation of a range of indoor and outdoor play equipment in 14 crèches situated across various Tibetan settlements in India. These crèches are located in Doeguling Mundgod, Lugsam Bylakuppe, Dhondenling Kollegal, Delar Bylakuppe, Rabgyaling Hunsur, Choepheling Miao, Dhargyeling Tezu, and Tenzingang. Earlier in 2022, similar facilities were extended to three crèches in Bir, Chauntra, and Gangkyi.

The primary objective of providing these facilities is to enhance the health and overall well-being of children in these crèches. The incorporation of indoor and outdoor play equipment has produced a profound impact on the children’s holistic development. These resources have promoted physical activity and outdoor play, thereby improving motor skills and sensory development. Moreover, the stimulation provided by these activities has also positively influenced cognitive development during the formative years of these children.
