On this day, August 12, 2005, His Holiness the Great 14th Dalai Lama was awarded the "Manhae Peace Prize" by the Manhae Foundation in South Korea. The Manhae Peace Prize was awarded in the recognition of His role in advocating nonviolent resistance for Tibet and promoting tolerance, mutual respect, and preservation of culture through peaceful dialogue.
