Lobsang Sangay, former Sikyong (President) of the Tibetan government-in-exile, joined us for an insightful conversation about his journey, Tibet’s struggle, and global geopolitics. A legal scholar who studied at Delhi University and later at Harvard, Sangay brings a unique perspective as the first Tibetan leader outside the monastic tradition to hold this position. In this interview, he discusses Tibet’s future, the challenges posed by China’s policies in South Asia, and what role countries like India can play. He also shares his views on sensitive issues such as the Dalai Lama’s succession, Beijing’s plans on the Brahmaputra river, and the hopes of Tibetans living around the world. This exchange goes beyond politics to reflect on identity, resilience, and the ongoing quest for justice in exile.
