Tibetans Launch Month-Long 'Black Hat March' to Delhi Seeking Freedom

The Tibetan Youth Congress has launched a month-long "Black Hat March" from Dharamshala to New Delhi to protest China’s ongoing cultural suppression in Tibet. Flagged off on March 31, the date the Dalai Lama entered Indian exile in 1959, the peaceful march will conclude at the United Nations office on April 25. Over 65 activists are participating to demand freedom and highlight political detentions, including the missing 11th Panchen Lama. Participants are wearing black hats featuring the Tibetan alphabet to symbolize their steadfast resistance against forced assimilation policies and their commitment to preserving Tibetan identity.
