Amid intense rains across the country, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for several districts of Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Odisha.
The latest nowcast predicts moderate to intense rain in these areas during the next few hours, bringing concerns of flash floods, landslides, and waterlogging.
According to IMD, there is an orange alert for heavy rainfall over several regions, including Uttarakhand, parts of Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and others.
